Arapahoe freshmen Ava Escorcia, Ava Mitchell and Emily Lamontagne helped the Warriors capture their first 5A girls team title in program history at the Colorado High School Activities Association state championships at Norris Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. Escorcia placed sixth, covering the 5-kilometer course in 18:44.1, with Mitchell right behind in 18:44.4. Lamontagne was the fifth scorer for the Warriors, finishing 29th in 19:45.5, helping Arapahoe prevail by a 69-99 margin over Cherry Creek. Junior Megan Bergstrom clocked 19:20.6 to place 14th and senior Kira McGill ran 19:42.1 to secure 25th for Arapahoe, whose previous-best state finish was second in 2000.
